Kalaeloa Partners (KPLP) Virtual Community Meeting
Kalaeloa Partners LP (KPLP) would like to invite you to a virtual community meeting (webinar format) to be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.
The meeting will inform members of surrounding communities, the public, and stakeholders about KPLP’s power generation facility in the Campbell Industrial Park. KPLP will discuss plant operations, the benefits it provides in delivering electricity to Oahu’s consumers, its social responsibility activities, and updates on the proposed renewal of its amended and restated power purchase agreement (ARPPA) with Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO).
The ARPPA would extend this agreement for another 10 years, reduce the price of energy and firm capacity provided to HECO, upgrade the power plant to enhance its efficiency and lower operational costs, and include an option for switching to biofuels. The ARPPA was submitted on November 24, 2021, to the Public Utilities Commission for approval.
KPLP currently provides electricity to meet about 20% o.f Oahu’s electricity needs and has been in operation since 1991. It is one of the early members of Campbell Industrial Park and has been a long-term supporter of community, educational, health, civic, and neighborhood organizations in the West Oahu area.
